iRobot 536 Price Comparison

The iRobot Roomba 536 from iRobot is a unique robotic vacuum that independently guides itself throughout your home, cleaning as it goes. This battery operated unit starts from, and returns to, its' "home base" to recharge itself and be ready for another cleaning cycle. The roomba will vacuum surfaces ranging from deep pile carpet to ceramic kitchen and bath tile and will adjust itself automatically depending on the surface it finds itself vacuuming.

At approximately 13" in diameter and 3 1/4" high, the round compact design of the 536 allows for easy access to hard to reach areas. It is capable of negotiating furniture, walls and other objects using infrared sensor technology and its' programmable virtual wall system also permits the user to confine the vacuum to a designated cleaning area without worry that the unit will "wander off".

The Roomba's electric motor powers counter-rotating brushes which are removable for cleaning purposes and a high capacity bagless bin can be removed when needed in order to discard accumulated debris. Also, a fine filter helps to trap dust, various allergens, and other tiny particulate matter inside the bin. Side brushes assist in evacuating dirt from corners and other hard to reach places in order for the larger brushes to then "sweep up" the debris.

The 536 has a "dirt detect" mode which gives it the ability to distinquish areas where higher concentrations of dirt may accumulate. It will spend additional time in these areas in an effort to collect the extra dirt.
